This song is about events that occurred during the year 1953. I crafted the lyrics to reflect some of my personal recollections and memories of how I experienced life in the early 1950s in England. Here is the first verse:
Thinking back to 1953
Flannel shirts were itchy as can be
We didn't have a TV or a fridge
To pass the time some folks played whist or bridge
In the lower middle classes
Hedges clipped and stripey grasses
Bourbon biscuits with your cup of tea.
